Social Fish have tried to summarise the type of jobs that exist now in the social media marketing field. At a glance, they cover the broad spectrum of what may or may not be needed within an organisation but I’m not sure I agree with all of them – especially needing a dedicated Product Developer to implement social media integration on your website.
However, for a marketing channel that has come up from very niche to super mainstream in the last 2-3 years, it is a helpful infographic for those looking for jobs in the social media space. I would take the salaries with a grain of salt (as we say in Australia) – I don’t think many organisations have started to quantify how much social media is worth to their business and many of the social media roles are rolled up into the “online marketing manager” or PR roles.
